We’re kicking off Giving Tuesday early this year! Your donation today will be matched up to $10K, doubling your impact! If you donate $50 today, the Reader will receive $100.

The Reader is now a community-funded nonprofit newsroom. Can we count on your support to help keep us publishing?

If you’re the kind of person who uses Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes before you go to the movies, this might help you decide on the Senate and gubernatorial elections (it’s not comprehensive, but I think I got most of the papers). Three things I learned:

1) Judy Baar Topinka did well. Can’t help but think there’s some “sorry, we should have elected you that other time” there.

2) Maybe Alexi Giannoulias wasn’t the best choice for Democrats. Just maybe.

3) Editorial-board endorsements usually get phoned in, but the Quincy Herald-Whig board actually used data and evidence to make arguments. Theirs are worth a read.
