From time to time I think that Bill McClellan of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch could possibly be the best local daily newspaper columnist anywhere. I have no reason to actually come to that conclusion so I don’t intend to — but if I did, well I might.

The last two times I thought this were after reading the last two columns McClellan wrote. So here they are — the first on a walk in the park, the second on the Cardinals’ opening day. Appropriately, each piece left in its wake readers fulminating at his stupidity, inanity, myopia, and blatant political bias.
