- “Fish Out of Water”
Ky Dickens started out by coming out to her Vanderbilt University sorority sisters and wound up as the animated narrator of her own documentary Fish Out of Water, which explores the tumultuous and evolving relationship between homosexuality and the bible. (Reader marketing director Kristen Kaza is a producer of the film.) Kaki King composed the score.
First Run Features releases Fish Out of Water on DVD today, and the filmmakers are celebrating with a release party at Lincoln Hall. With music by JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound with Rita J, Lady Tajma Hall, Erik Roldan, and Butch Cassidy. It’s hosted by comedian Cameron Esposito.
