Russ Tutterow, longtime artistic director at Chicago Dramatists and much-loved nurturer of plays and playwrights, will be remembered during An Evening of Sharing, at 6:30 PM next Monday, July 13, at the Goodman Theatre. Tutterow, who’d been battling cancer, died May 4.
In three decades at Chicago Dramatists, most recently as artistic director emeritus, Tutterow had worked with the likes of Keith Huff, Tina Fey, Rebecca Gilman, Brett Neveu, and many, many more. His final production, Elaine Romero’s A Work of Art, coproduced with the Goodman, is running at Chicago Dramatists through July 19.
Friends and colleagues are invited to participate in the memorial program either live or on video, with brief written or spoken memories, stories, songs, photos, or other artifacts that pay tribute to Tutterow’s impact on their careers and/or lives. Information about how to do that can be found at the Chicago Dramatists website.
Doors will open at 6 PM on July 13, at the Goodman’s Albert Auditorium, 170 N. Dearborn.
