Local media outlets are at sixes and sevens over yesterday’s G8 shocker. Here’s a headline from Crain’s: “Chicago feels chill as G8’s global spotlight swings away.” Compare that to the cover of the today’s Trib, at left; the web version‘s headline reads, “G-8 is pulled from Chicago — but NATO, security concerns and global spotlight stay.” (Both articles are worth a read, especially for the differing conclusions.)

In the tiebreaker, ABC Chicago sided with the spotlight-staying side, though it did some hedging. I can’t decide where Ben Joravsky stands on the matter.
