OK, it’s low-hanging fruit, but whenever the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame announces its new inductees, I usually can’t stop giggling. (John Mellencamp beat out the Beastie Boys this year, if you were on pins and needles about it.) This year’s totally left-field hell-yeah, though, is Leonard Cohen, who released his first record in 1967 and, at 73, is still on my GILF list. 2008’s an election year–he better do “Democracy.”
