We’re kicking off Giving Tuesday early this year! Your donation today will be matched up to $10K, doubling your impact! If you donate $50 today, the Reader will receive $100.

The Reader is now a community-funded nonprofit newsroom. Can we count on your support to help keep us publishing?

(John Mellencamp beat out the Beastie Boys this year, if you were on pins and needles about it.) This year’s totally left-field hell-yeah, though, is Leonard Cohen, who released his first record in 1967 and, at 73, is still on my GILF list. 2008’s an election year–he better do “Democracy.”
