I was just messing with thou!”) much as He did to Abraham in Genesis 22, but then He got distracted by the sight of somebody somewhere cooking a baby goat in its mother’s milk. That is one thing He simply will not countenance (see Exodus 23:19, Exodus 34:26, and Deuteronomy 14:21.)
