Wicker Park boutique Habit announced yesterday through its Facebook page that the store will be closing July 31 after five years in business (in the meantime, everything in the store is 15 to 50 percent off). It’s a blow for the many local and independent designers who sell their work through the store, and every month seems to bring news of another store closing. But there are a few new boutiques too: designer Lesley Timpe opened Squasht by Les in Ukrainian Village this summer to feature her line of casual clothes and accessories as well as work by other local designers; this summer also saw the opening of Cerato Boutique on the north side, which carries locally designed clothing and jewelry.
