In a concert-preview roundup posted today, Greg Kot calls Azita‘s free show Monday at the Bottle “flat-out the bargain of the week,” but his writeup ends with a bit of weirdness. He says she’ll be “opening for herself . . . reincarnating her previous bands, Bride of No No and Scissor Girls.”
While that would be awesome–and, as Azita noted when I called to ask her about this, extremely tiring–it’s definitely not happening. The excellent psychedelic noise-pop outfit Golden Birthday is in fact opening, which is maybe not as exciting or strange as an all-Azita revue but should still be a pretty fine time.
