We’re kicking off Giving Tuesday early this year! Your donation today will be matched up to $10K, doubling your impact! If you donate $50 today, the Reader will receive $100.

The Reader is now a community-funded nonprofit newsroom. Can we count on your support to help keep us publishing?

In case you haven’t seen it yet, the new issue of Interview magazine includes a Q&A with R. Kelly conducted by Will Oldham, which would’ve been on my list of things that can make me LOL with joy if I’d even imagined it could happen. Highlights include a story about Kells throwing a huge party at his place where he performed a set as Sam Cooke, an amusing anecdote involving Muhammad Ali using the word “bullshit,” and of course the overall wonderfulness of having a guy who created a 22-part comic “opera” interviewed by a guy who recently went on a stealth tour where he and his band played in matching camouflage-fleece onesies. Somebody please tell me this is going to lead to a collabo album.
