Nihilistic hardcore and children’s charity may not seem to go hand in hand, but for the past five years local hardcore act the Killer has hosted a holiday toy drive, which comes to the Viaduct Theatre on Friday, December 21, at 10 PM. This year’s lineup, headlined by the Killer, features four insanely heavy openers: Weekend Nachos, Enabler, Like Rats, and Ox King.
This year’s toy drive, organized by Killer singer Luke Gray, benefits the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, which helps children and families in need throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. What better soundtrack for helping the kids than the brutal powerviolence of Weekend Nachos? Coincidentally, the band debuted a new track online earlier this week.
