Smith Westerns’ upcoming sophomore album, Dye It Blonde (Fat Possum), has unexpectedly become one of the most anticipated indie-rock releases of the season, even though it departs pretty significantly from the fuzzy basement Bolan-isms that got the band all this attention in the first place.
