I only just now became aware that Grant Hart from Hüsker Dü is going to be playing at Heaven Gallery tonight at 7 PM along with Chicagoan and 4AD signee Anni Rossi. The occasion is the opening of a show by photographer Yony Leyser, who’s spent the past several years documenting life in anti-mainstream enclaves: a vegan transgender commune in Tennessee, the largest squat in Europe, the hippie-crust city-within-a-city Christiana in Copenhagen. Between the sample images (more here) and my sketchy knowledge of crust punks I’m guessing the exhibit is going to be several kinds of gnarly.
