Heavy Times play hazy, minimalist garage-influenced rock—they could fairly be described as a less moody Ponys, and they’re currently one of my favorite bands in town. They just released a seven-inch on local label HoZac Records, and tonight they’re playing a live set at Beauty Bar alongside the Victim of Time DJs. They’ll be selling that seven-inch, both in its limited-edition black-vinyl incarnation as well as its extra-limited-edition gold-vinyl version, which you can only buy through the band or through flippers on eBay.

There’s no cover, and if you RSVP to chicagorsvp@thebeautybar.com you can drink a beer called Moose Drool for free from 9 to 10 PM.
