I realize that by the standards of cyberspace this is already ancient history, but I just can’t get enough of the two outtakes from I ♥ Huckabees that hit the Internet last Friday. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure, the first shows Lily Tomlin kvetching about director David O. Russell’s constant changes and, after a brief blackout, Russell throwing a screaming tantrum while the crew members run for cover. The second shows Tomlin losing her cool and giving Russell an epic tongue-lashing as Dustin Hoffman tries to mollify her and Isabelle Huppert stares blankly into space with her usual Galllic sangfroid. At this point I may have spent more time laughing at the first clip than I did at the movie itself. Somewhere Buddy Rich is smiling . . .
