Last November the Pew Research Center asked American “online adults” if they considered themselves Twitter users. Eight percent said yes. In May they asked the question again. Thirteen percent said yes.
This finding tells us there’s a lot of room for growth. It also tells use Twitter use grew by more than 60 percent in six months.
White Americans are slow getting to the party, according to Pew. Just 9 percent of white internet users tweet, while 25 percent of black and 19 percent of Hispanic internet users tweet.
