It’s hardly the most welcoming economic climate in which to open a boutique. But that hasn’t deterred Anastasia Chatzka, whose shop featuring her self-titled line holds a grand opening party (with drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and sweets) on Saturday. Chatzka, a graduate of Chicago’s International Academy of Design & Technology, worked for Anna Sui and Betsey Johnson in New York before returning here to focus on her own line. Like her former bosses, Chatzka loves bright colors–pink, blue, green, and yellow–and her 50s-inspired designs put me in mind of a slightly more demure Katy Perry.

The shop is at 1740 W. Division.

UPDATE: The opening party will start around 2 PM and the store will be offering 15 percent off dresses.
