No Games Chicago reported on Wednesday that International Olympic Committee members visiting Chicago had promised to take a look at Ben Joravsky’s open letter to them.

Ben’s argument is that holding the Olympics here isn’t such a hot idea (which is generating a huge response, incidentally) is apparently shared by Leon Despres, who says in a video interview the premise that the Olympics would be good for the city is an “illusion.” The esteemed 101-year-old former alderman concedes that it would be good for some businesses, “but not many,” and that they’ll benefit “at the expense of the city.”

Is there anyone left who thinks the Games would be good for Chicago?
