Local improv stars David Pasquesi and T.J. Jagodowski are the subject of Austin filmmaker Alex Karpovsky’s documentary Trust Us, This Is All Made Up, which has its local premiere Saturday. Karpovsky filmed a 2008 performance at New York’s Barrow Street Theatre, and, according to the film’s web site, “explore[d] the folds of faith that underlie their relationship and the transcendental forces that govern their improvisation.” The film debuted in March at the South by Southwest Film Festival.
Trust Us, This Is All Made Up screens Saturday at 6 PM at Columbia College’s Film Row Cinema, 1104 S. Wabash Ave. Tickets are $10. It’s part of IFP/Chicago’s Producers’ Series “Eye-Witness – Focus On Documentaries” which runs April 4-5 and 18-19, with workshops, panels and screenings highlighting the business of documentary production. Series passes start at $125.
