The results of the annual Jazz Critics Poll, which ran for five years in the Village Voice and moves this year to the digital-music site Rhapsody, have gone live. Road Shows, Vol. 2 by Sonny Rollins was chosen album of the year; my pick was Here Comes Everybody (Jazzland) by the great Scandinavian quintet Atomic. The poll’s 122 participating critics ranked 60 albums in that category; there are also categories for vocal album, Latin album, reissues, and debuts. Plus you can read essays by Francis Davis, who organizes the poll, and Tom Hull. My ballot is after the jump.
