Few subjects have been discussed on this blog more passionately by more people than gay publisher Jeff McCourt, who in the end so completely alienated everyone he knew that his death in March went unnoticed in town until I wrote about it more than a month later. “Out There,” by Robert Sharoff in the September Chicago, looks back on McCourt’s tormented, important life and I recommend it.
