The Tribune Company is based in Chicago but the new CEO will operate out of Los Angeles, the company announced Friday. He’s Eddy Hartenstein, publisher of the Los Angeles Times.

Hartenstein had been part of a four-member executive council, which also included Tony Hunter, CEO of the Chicago Tribune Media Group and publisher of the Tribune; Nils Larsen, chairman of Tribune Broadcasting; and Don Liebentritt, chief restructuring officer of the bankrupt company.

The executive council will no longer exist.
