Overnight Nettwerk, the record label behind woman-centric music festival Lilith Fair, removed several crisis pregnancy centers from the ballots of its online Choose Your Charity campaign. This morning Nettwerk and Lilith Fair publicist Danielle Romeo confirmed that the CPCs had been removed by Nettwerk; she was unsure whether an official statement would be forthcoming. NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina was also removed. Several anti-choice organizations—faith-based maternity homes, abortion-alternative advocacy centers—remain listed. The Chicago ballot hasn’t been affected.
Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride, in an e-mail sent Thursday afternoon, told the organizers of a Facebook protest group that Lilith will introduce some criteria for what sort of organizations can qualify for Choose Your Charity.
