  • Connecting the dots between Trump’s Chicago deals and his campaign promises

At one point GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump promised to give early buyers of condos at the Trump International Hotel and Tower a 10 percent discount. But as he watched the demand and prices increase, he took back his promise. “Even when he’s bound by a written contract, that still doesn’t limit what he thinks he can say or do,” local attorney Nathan Diamond-Falk, who bought a condo in the tower, told Bloomberg. “I wouldn’t believe a word he says.” The broken promise in Chicago has political observers wondering if he would follow through with his many foreign policy promises if elected.
