There’s plenty to do this weekend. Here’s some of what we recommend: 

Fri 10/14: Hume Chicago (3242 W. Armitage) hosts performances, accompanied by visual art and poetry, by local artists in Tender Space. Drinks & snacks available with donation. 6-9 PM

Fri 10/14: ClickHole writers will be at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia) sharing stories and giving presentations. 9 PM

Fri 10/14: Mash Bash Chicago, the annual Whiskey Awards Celebration, is hosted by Tastings.com and Binny’s at the beverage depot’s Lincoln Park location (1720 N. Marcey). The celebration includes a scavenger hunt, whiskey and food tasting, and special Binny’s discounts. 5:30-8 PM

Sat 10/15-Sun 10/16: The Logan Square Food Truck Social will feature 15 food trucks, live music, and chef-prepared sample plates incorporating Hormel Black Label Bacon at Logan Square (Humboldt between Armitage and Bloomingdale). 11 AM-10 PM

Sat 10/15: The Reader‘s Luca Cimarusti (also one half of the Dad’s Basement DJs) plays Grateful Dead hits at the Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western) for Grateful Dead Brunch. Food will be provided from Bite Cafe. Noon-3 PM

10/15-10/16: The Chicago Architecture Foundation is hosting its annual Open House Chicago festival this weekend to offer the public access to more than 200 buildings in Chicago.

Sun 10/16:
Bloody Mary Fest will be coming to the West Loop on Sunday at Plumbers Hall (1340 W. Washington). The festival will include food, entertainment, an assortment of beverages, and Chicago’s Bloody Mary Competition. 11 AM-3 PM

Sun 10/16:
Grab all of the vintage stuff you can get your hands on at the final Vintage Garage of the year. The Garage (5051 N. Broadway) will host its last vintage sale of the season, themed “Record Ramp,” selling vintage and antique music items alongside Halloween gear. 10 AM-5 PM

Sun 10/16: Author Grace Bonney will join the Music Box Theatre (3733 N. Southport) to present her book In The Company of Women, which profiles more than 100 diverse entrepreneurial women in their work spaces. 6-9 PM
