Monster-metal band and Eurovision-winners Lordi have everything, it seems: their own restaurant and comic book, a feud with Gwar, even a few albums’ worth of recorded music. Now they’re challenging attention spans all over the world with their first full-length film, Dark Floors. No surprise, it’s a horror movie—apparently the first of its kind to be produced in Finland—directed by the same guy who’s shot all of their videos. The band will use their stage personas and costumes, but there won’t be any bombastic, noticeably European-sounding metal in the film. “You can have the goriest monster lurking somewhere,” front man Mr. Lordi told Fangoria in a recent interview, “but if you put heavy metal in the soundtrack at that moment, it’ll make it look silly.”
