Local punk trio Meat Wave have been stirring up quite a buzz for a couple of years, and these past couple of weekends have been especially exciting for them: the band tore it up to an adoring crowd at last week’s Riot Fest, and tomorrow they officially release their second full-length, Delusion Moon, on mainstay punk label SideOneDummy. Delusion Moon is a triumph for the band—it boasts even bigger bouts of tension and more massive, eerie hooks than ever before, thanks to the group’s electric, acrobatic guitars and pummeling rhythm section.

To celebrate the record’s release, Meat Wave have three big events planned, starting with a free, all-ages in-store tomorrow afternoon at Bric-a-Brac Records. That show starts at 5:30 PM and Troy Anderson opens.

On Sunday, September 20, they headline a show at Emporium Arcade Bar in Wicker Park that doubles as a record-release party and a keg-tapping event for Pipeworks‘ new Delusion Moon session ale, brewed with blood orange in the trio’s honor. Lil Tits and Foul Tip open that one.

And finally, the band will be playing next weekend, on Saturday, September 26, at Saki with openers Vamos.

Meat Wave are an absolute force live, and Delusion Moon is an excellent record, so you should probably try to make it to all of these events. Check out Delusion Moon‘s killer title track below.
