Evanston-based Rhino magazine is accepting submissions of poetry, translations of poetry, and “short-short fiction” through October 1. Submissions for its Founders’ Prize ($300 for the winner, $25 for runners-up) are open to “all poets with a distinctive voice.” Guidelines are here.
The Guild Complex is accepting submissions of nonfiction and short fiction for its annual Prose Awards. Deadline is October 22; there’s a $5 fee. Judges for this year’s competition are Susan Messer and Bayo Ojikutu. Winners in each category get $500. Guidelines are here.
