The Reader couldn’t devote as much print space to this weekend’s Neon Marshmallow Music Festival as it deserves, though the current issue does include John McEntire and Sam Prekop of the Sea and Cake talking with pioneering electronic music composer Morton Subotnick as well as previews of Pelt, Mike Shiflet, and Spiral Joy Band. But there’s a lot of other worthwhile stuff to check out at this year’s edition, hosted by the Empty Bottle rather than the Viaduct Theater like last August’s debut. Below I cover a few more of these artists.
