Th’ Legendary Shack Shakers singer J.D. Wilkes celebrates raw, traditional southern culture in his directorial debut Seven Signs: Music, Myth and the American South , screening tonight in the monthly Indie Flicks series at Sonotheque.
Also on tonight’s bill: Michael Ramova’s short The Sound of Glory, about a WWII veteran facing his memories, and a trailer for Ben Steger’s Left Field, about debauchery and tragedy in the Humboldt Park adult kickball league (which also screens Sunday and Monday at the Gene Siskel Film Center).
Screenings start at 7 PM, with a DJ set by Supertoy at 6 at Sonotheque, 1444 W. Chicago. It’s $7. RSVP for reduced admission.
