  • Holly Williams

On her recently released second third album The Highway (Georgiana), only the name of Nashville singer-songwriter Holly Williams explicitly connects her to the famous musical family she’s part of. Her father is Bocephus and her half-brother is Hank III, but her music, while streaked with a rustic simplicity, has nothing to do with her dad’s outsize honky-tonk or the paradigm-setting twang of her poet grandfather. Instead she purveys a largely acoustic strain of folk-rock, delivering empathetic narratives of troubled couples, difficult upbringings, and the imposing hurdles of personal redemption.
