When we last checked in with African Sanctuary, founder Cherie Jones was supporting her concept—importing accessories by African artisans while supporting fair trade and job creation programs—primarily through trunk shows and other events. She now has a boutique and showroom in Lincoln Park, where she’s showcasing a new line of summer bags. The Jabulani, the Charlize, and the Jozi are made of white leather and springbok, a type of antelope; hides are obtained through organizations and programs involved in wildlife and environmental sustainability programs.
