Thursday night at Park Ridge Public Library, former LaSalle Bank Cinema programmer Matthew Hoffman opens his latest film series: “Legends of Laughter” includes such silent comedy classics as Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush (1925), The Circus (1928), and City Lights (1931); Buster Keaton’s The Navigator (1924), Sherlock Jr. (1924), and Steamboat Bill Jr. (1928); and Harold Lloyd’s Safety Last (1923), The Freshman (1925), and The Kid Brother (1927).
