Lisa Bertagnoli covers the fashion chestnut of jeans in the office. The conclusion: as long as you’re choosing basic dark-wash styles without lots of holes and distressing and pairing them with something dressy like a jacket, it’s OK for the most part, but watch out for those dressier contexts.

But here’s my favorite part of the piece:

Ron Wiginton, 53, has worn jeans to class since joining Elmhurst College as an associate professor of English 11 years ago. “I don’t want to sound elitist or arrogant, but jeans make me cool,” says Mr. Wiginton, who teams his jeans with a corduroy jacket and a ponytail. [Emphasis mine.] “I do have a bit of a reputation — I’m known as a cool professor.”
