Things I missed: Last month the World Transhumanist Association held its Transvision 2007 conference in our fair city. “Transhumanism” (acronymically, “H+” or “>H”) is something of a catch-all term that encompasses everything from radical longevity diets to digital mindfiles to cryonics to advanced CT scans–in short, everything from fairly conventional future technology to crazypants sci-fi stuff as long as it involves improving abilities or lengthening life through the use of technology. Ronald Bailey of Reason reported from the conference, as did New City Chicago. The wonderful Roy Edroso and Sadly, No! have some analysis.
