• David Jude Greene’s “59 Seconds” screens in the One-Minute Film Festival

Rained out Aug. 13 when it was scheduled to go down in the Art Institute’s Pritzker Garden, the One-Minute Film Festival happens tonight in the Modern Wing during the AIC’s free night.

New York artist, curator and College of Staten Island professor Jason Simon has been hosting annual screenings of up-to-60-second films and videos in an upstate barn since 2002 “in a decidedly party atmosphere,” and in recent years he’s taken the show on the road.

Featuring local submissions, the One-Minute Film Festival runs in continuous loop in Gallery 189 from 5-8 p.m. at the Art Institute, 111 S. Michigan Ave. Cash bar.
