If you’re not a dedicated fan of pop group Office, you may not know the following things: that the band’s most recent and best-known lineup has dissolved, that front man Scott Masson has moved back home to Detroit, and that earlier this month he posted the band’s odd new album, Mecca, for free online without the rest of the band’s consent and in a form slightly altered from the one they wanted.

Gapers Block just posted an interview with Masson where he discusses his decision to move out of Chicago, why he released Mecca the way he did, what the future of Office might look like, and the traumatic head injury that helped inspire this whole situation.
