For a handful of years, local duo Plague Bringer were responsible for some of Chicago’s finest racket (and one goddamn delicious Kuma’s burger). The cyber-grind act’s last release was 2008’s Life Songs in a Land of Death, and they sort of dropped off over the past few years. Guitarist Greg Ratajczak spent time playing in Swans-y postrock band Anatomy of Habit, and I was starting to fall under the impression that Plague Bringer was totally a thing of the past. Then, earlier this week, Ratajczak posted a link to a new Plague Bringer track on his Facebook page, simply saying, “Yes, it’s true. And there’s more to come. One day.”
And the song is awesome. Hopefully more music comes sooner rather than later.
