A pill-popping therapist named Mit (Ed Meanan) has visions of an alternate life as Tim, a transvestite train station janitor, in Rujanee Mahakanjana’s “Psy/Fi” feature Parallel Universe.

With her second feature-length work, the Bangkok-born, Chicago-based filmmaker continues the psychosexual exploration she began in her 2009 architecture documentary Man and His Erections.

Petrucia Finkler, Danny Glenn, Alex Kazhinsky and Tirf Alexius costar in Parallel Universe, which premieres this week with screenings Saturday 12/18 and Sunday 12/19 at 5:30 p.m., and Tuesday 12/21 at 7 and 8:30 p.m. at Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave. $15.
