Happiness is a warm drone, especially in cold weather: there’s nothing better for beating back the chill than a nice thick blanket of minimalist sound art. On Saturday local presenters Lampo bring Phill Niblock back to Chicago for a program of music and video at least two hours long–the only way they could make it better would be to provide you with hot cider and a cat.

Niblock has been plying his many trades–composition, photography, film, arts administration–for as long as 50 years, but incredibly his Chicago debut was only eight years ago. It was Lampo that brought him here then, too.
