- “The Pink Hotel” poster by Tony Fitzpatrick
The war rages on. But the residents and guests of the Pink Hotel are determined to celebrate the New Year unhindered by such weighty concerns. As they ready themselves for the big night, weird noises and crumbling surfaces hint that the hotel, and maybe more than that, is disintegrating around them.
Chris Hefner’s black-and-white Super 8 surrealist tribute to early talkies, The Pink Hotel, which I covered when it premiered at the Music Box in April, screens for free tonight as part of a DVD release party at Lincoln Hall.
Also screening shorts that include Guy Maddin‘s The Night Mayor and Lilli Carré‘s Head Garden. Along with DVDs, autographed premiere posters by Tony Fitzpatrick are also for sale.
It’s at 2424 N. Lincoln Ave. at 7 p.m.
