Pollan v. Mackey, round . . .

OK, I admit I haven’t actually found two hours to kick back and enjoy this webcast of a recent summit between Omnivore’s Dilemma author Michael Pollan and Whole Foods CEO John Mackey. But maybe you’re better at time management than me?

The backstory: Pollan came down pretty hard on Whole Foods in his book, so hard that Mackey wrote him a loooong letter taking him to task–in a libertarian-capitalist, we’re-all-in-this-together kind of way–for glossing over the economic realities of running a large grocery chain and, by the way, not bothering to actually interview anyone from said chain for said book. Pollan replied, Mackey wrote back, and the next thing you know they’re sharing the stage at Berkeley. Apparently it was packed, which says a lot about how mainstreamed this whole sustainability thing is getting.
