- A still from ZRO FOX’s video for “Might Not”
Last Sunday, on the last night of Chicago’s winter festival Tomorrow Never Knows, local MCs ProbCause and Hologram Kizzie (aka Psalm One) took the stage together at Lincoln Hall. It was good timing: the two rappers had just teamed up on a new project called ZRO FOX, and their first single “Might Not” had premiered about a week before. “Might Not”—which features a guest verse from another local favorite, Sasha Go Hard—shows off just how well these two longtime Chicago hip-hop standouts jell. Kizzie, who became the first woman to sign to Minneapolis’s Rhymesayers label as Psalm One in 2006, shouts out her fellow women in Chicago’s hip-hop scene (including the up-and-coming Tink), while ProbCause lays down a verse about not judging books by their covers.
The single now has a video courtesy of Aaron Perkins Jr. of APJ Films. Watch it below, and keep an eye out for the duo’s self-titled EP, which is set to be released later this week via Bonafyde Media.
