  • Chicago Zine Fest

Looking for something to do today? Agenda’s got you covered:

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra performs the scores from Alfred Hithcock’s most famous films, including To Catch a Thief, Dial M for Murder, and North by Northwest.

Artist Theaster Gates presents the opening of Arts Incubator, an arts space that will provide a place for “artist residencies, arts education, and community-based arts projects.” The event will feature a guided tour of the space and a performance by LeRoy Bach.

As the publishing industry crumbles about our feet (JK, everything’s great), the zine—scrappy younger sibling of the traditional periodical—is apparently thriving. Chicago Zine Fest begins today at Columbia College’s Conway Center with a panel discussion on writing about health and disability and stretches until the wee hours with a late-night game show at Quimby’s called Zine, Lose, or Draw!
