Looking for something to do today? Agenda’s got you covered:

Celebrated outsider artist Henry Darger never received recognition for his work during his lifetime. For his birthday, though, Intuit is hosting a party where you can show him the appreciation he never received, as well as eat cake, buy memorabilia at auction, and toast to a happier afterlife.

Oyez Review, the long-running literary journal written, edited, and produced by Roosevelt University MFA candidates, celebrates its 40th issue at Quimby’s Bookstore. Katherine May Copenhaver and other contributors will attend.

When you were in high school, some zit-faced jock told you marching band was for nerds. Well, that jock is probably a fat shoe salesman now, and the “band geeks” in the Asphalt Orchestra are traveling the country playing songs by Frank Zappa, David Byrne, and Bjork. So there. The New York-based avant marching band makes its Illinois debut tonight at Northwestern University’s Pick-Staiger Concert Hall.
