Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered.
The Taste of Randolph Street kicks off today, and continues through the weekend with lots of food and music. West Loop restaurants like Publican Quality Meats—described by the Reader‘s Mike Sula as having a “boundless meatopia” of sandwich options—satiate your cravings while bands like Kaiser Chiefs and Minus the Bear provide the tunes.
Kids in the Hall, Canada’s sketch kings, are back in the States to give Chicago a wild show. The group will perform some of their older sketches, such as “Chicken Lady” and “Buddy Cole,” but will also break out new material. Known for their tendency for the absurd, the Kids should provide a totally absurd evening.
Musical instruments are expensive, especially “in this economy.” Luckily, the participants of the 2014 U.S. Air Guitar Semi-Finals need only their imaginations and a set of speakers to put on a show. This is the 11th year of the U.S. Air Guitar competition, one 24 contests worldwide. Former champs Nordic Thunder and Hot Lixx Hulahan will also appear.
