There’s no need to pretend at the Art Institute’s “After Dark: Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity.” It’s all about the clothes, both in the paintings and on the runway, in a fashion show curated by style maven Ikram Goldman.

The Summer Music Film Festival kicks off today at the Music Box and runs through the weekend. Opening night includes a documentary about the late rock legend Levon Helm, Tommy, the British rock opera based on the Who’s album of the same name, and more.
