Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered:
Would we love the impressionists as much as we do if the people they painted all dressed like slobs? Unlikely. The Summer Music Film Festival kicks off today at the Music Box and runs through the weekend. Opening night includes a documentary about the late rock legend Levon Helm, Tommy, the British rock opera based on the Who’s album of the same name, and more.
“No one has overstated how crucial Naked Raygun was to the development of a nationally important underground music scene in Chicago—and that’s because it’s not really possible to do so,” writes Monica Kendrick in Soundboard. Catch Naked Raygun tonight at Metro.
