Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered:

The utter ubiquity of cat videos may be an internet phenomenon, but that doesn’t mean they never existed before YouTube. Tonight, Chicago Filmmakers celebrates the pre-internet cat video canon with the Cat Film Festival, screening feline films from Stan Brakhage, Yvonne Anderson, Joyce Wieland, and more, all in original 16mm.

At its worst, burlesque is little more than your everyday pole grinding minus the necessity to tip. At its best, it’s an art form. The Inconvenience’s Fly Honey Show tends toward the latter: real performers engaging in the art of seduction to celebrate human sexuality. Catch the act at Chopin Theatre.

The Chicago French Film Festival kicks off today at the Music Box, screening top contemporary French films and newly restored classics through August 1st. Tonight, see the 2012 romantic comedy Fly Me to the Moon (Un Plan Parfait), one of France’s highest grossing movies last year, as well as the 2011 thriller The Prey (La Proie), about a prison inmate who befriends his shady cellmate.
