Looking for something to do today? Agenda‘s got you covered.
The Harvard Sailing Team isn’t from Harvard, and its members don’t sail—but they are a team, albeit a comedy team. One out of three ain’t bad. Tonight the New York-based group puts up some of its signature sketches at Beat Kitchen.
Local art-world powerhouse and installation artist Theaster Gates has gathered artists to explore withdrawing and contemplation in the exhibit “Retreat.” Derrick Adams, Erika Allen, and Elizabeth Axtman are among the artists participating in the collaboration with Black Artists Retreat, Valerie Carberry Gallery, and Richard Gray Gallery. The opening reception is tonight at Richard Gray Gallery.
Tonight hardcore punks Zero Boys stop by the Cobra Lounge. In Soundboard Kevin Warwick writes of their first album, “It’s obviously the work of talented punks, with intelligent songwriting, crisp hooks, and a poppy, Ramones-like flavor—a far cry from the usual gruff, gnarly riffs and ham-fisted drum parts, all learned ten minutes before the tape rolled (not that there’s anything wrong with that).”
