Looking for something to do today? Agenda’s got you covered:

Chicago hip-hop heads can check out the Winter Block Party for Hip Hop Arts at the Metro, which will feature appearances from Sidewalk Chalk, Psalm One, ADD-2 and Saba, as well as dance battles, poetry slams, and a screening of Benji, the heart-wrenching documentary about Simeon basketball star Ben Wilson’s 1984 murder.

For its monthly screening of rare, foreign, and classic films, the Whistler, in partnership with the inimitable video store Odd Obsession, presents the 1973 Senegalese drama film Touki Bouki, followed by a DJ set from Impala Sound Champion.

Ever heard a story so nuts, it just couldn’t be true? So have the fine folks behind True Lies: Stories of Deception, a storytelling series centered on personal anecdotes that mix elements of truth and fiction. Rebecca Anderson, Parker Stockman, and Cyn Vargas are among the evening’s scheduled readers.
